POLISHED PLASTER OFTEN referred to by several other terms

Venetian Plaster – This is one of the most recognised terms, named after the traditional Italian technique. It involves multiple layers of plaster that are polished to create a smooth, shiny surface, often with a marble-like effect.
Stucco Veneziano – Another name tied to Venetian Plaster, this term emphasizes the Venetian method of applying plaster in thin layers to create depth and sheen.
Lime Plaster – Made from natural lime, this plaster is known for its breathability, making it suitable for older buildings and environments where air quality is important.
Marmorino – A traditional Italian plaster that creates a marble-like appearance. It's often used for creating soft, matte finishes or glossy, polished surfaces, depending on the technique and application.
Decorative Plaster – A more generic term used to describe various types of decorative finishing plasters, including polished plasters. It highlights the aesthetic nature of the material.
Italian Plaster – This term is commonly used to describe plaster finishes that are based on traditional Italian techniques, including Venetian plaster and marmorino, which provide a sophisticated look to interiors.
Polished Stucco – A reference to the smooth, glossy appearance that polished plaster can achieve, this term is often used interchangeably with Venetian plaster and other fine finishes.
Plaster Finishes – A broad term that encompasses all types of plaster finishes, including polished plaster. It’s used when referring to decorative plaster applications that focus on surface texture and visual appeal.
Tadelakt – A Moroccan plaster technique often used for its shiny, water-resistant surface, sometimes also categorized under polished plasters, though it’s traditionally created with lime plaster and soap.
Smooth Plaster – This simple term is sometimes used when referring to polished finishes that create an ultra-smooth surface, often with a glossy, reflective quality.
Satin Plaster – A finish that sits between matte and gloss, giving a subtle sheen. Satin plaster techniques can be used to create a polished effect without a high gloss.
Lustrous Plaster – A descriptive term that highlights the shiny, reflective quality of polished plaster finishes.
